Caring For Your Range Rover Key Fob
A Range Rover key fob is relatively easy to operate but it’s important to take care of it properly. There are a few ways to ensure ideal performance of your key fob: be aware of the damages that can be caused to your key fob like extreme heat or direct sunlight for long hours, some devices can mess with the radio frequency of your key fob so be sure to keep it away from such devices like medical equipment, and if your car panel displays “SMART KEY BATTERY LOW,” you’ll need to change the battery before it causes permanent damage to your keys. Caring for your key fob will ensure its long life and top performance.
Changing the Range Rover Key Fob Battery
If you’ve noticed your can panel display “SMART KEY BATTERY LOW,” then it’s probably time for a battery change. In order to properly do this, you’ll have to make sure to have the proper battery on hand. Once you’ve got a CR2032 type battery, you’ll need to open up the key fob. In order to open it, look for a small black button. Press down and release the metal emergency key. In some cases, it may just be a key that slides out of the casing. Next, use a screwdriver or a key blade to pry open the key fob. Once you’ve carefully opened the key fob, carefully remove the old battery. When placing the new battery in, make sure the positive side is up. Try not to touch the battery too much as this can speed up corrosion. Once the new battery is in place and secure, close up the key fob. The car panel should no longer display the ‘low battery’ sign. If the ‘low battery’ light is still on, you may need to try a newer battery. If you’ve successfully changed the battery, it’s time to move on to key fob programming.
